An old friend of Cowley’s, his first pick when forming CI5, and Bodie and Doyle’s trainer, turns out to be corrupt, and the boys have to track him down before he can flee the country.

With the first series of The Professionals having been a storming success for ITV, obviously they were keen to have more. Surprisingly, though, many of the behind the scenes staff – and one conspicuous onscreen one – were not so keen, so it was all change for this second “series” (well, production block).

Doctor Who: Season 2/15/41, Episode 7 – Wish World

“Is any of this making sense?”

Well… if I’m honest, not much, no. To be fair to Russell T Davies, this is the first half of a two-part story, so perhaps everything will click into place next week. For now, though, what we had here seemed like a bit of a jumble; there were some brilliant ideas, and some striking images, but it didn’t seem to cohere into any kind of logical story. Not yet, anyway.

Doctor Who: Season 14, Episode 6 – Rogue

Oh my Bridgerton – this is my actual dream!”

(SPOILER WARNING!)

So, this week’s Doctor Who was the much-anticipated “Bridgerton episode”. Just in case you weren’t aware of its inspiration, Ruby and the Doctor helpfully dropped the name of the show they were imitating over and over again – “it’s just like Bridgerton!” I wasn’t entirely clear, but it seemed at one point that even the villains were mentioning their love of Netflix’s hit Regency drama.
